Since I got a little confused about "what" translations I needed after reading different things on the forum (either official, notarized translations or just certified by a competent translator), I contacted the US embassy in Zagreb, Croatia, where I'll have my interview, and they told me that I didn't have to translate ANYTHING at all...It's good that I have an email confirming that....Has anybody heard anything like that before?
 
You don't have to translate documents that are in an official language of the country where you do CP, that's no news. However, certain translations might be needed when looking for a job in the US, etc.
 
however, even though the official site says that documents in the country's language do not need to be translated, in many consulates translations are still required. For example, in all of the former Soviet Union republics they have to be translated. In Bucharest, Romania, the translations also need to be notarized.

Well, I'm from Slovenia and doing my CP in Croatia...Slovenian is not the official language of Croatia....But you're right, it's better I translate certain documents. Thanks.
