Inmediate advice needed

Let's see if i can recap my horrible legal status in one post.

I was brought here illegally as a child by my parents. My mother became a resident in the 1986 amnesty if i am not mistaken. Brought me here in 1992. After i was here, she petitioned for me. Years later i was granted an employment authorization card and a Social security card.

We received a letter by immigration requesting all the financial documentation they usually request. A couple of months later we received a dreadful letter telling us my application was denied based on my mother's low income.

That was around 1999 when i was 18 years old. After that i never tried to do anything else for fear of being deported. I am now 23 years old, employed full time. Pay taxes with the social security number given to me at the time.

I am now looking for a good inmigration lawyer to guide me as what can i do. Can my mother file a new petition for me now that she is a USC and has a much better financial situation?

I also have been together with my current GF for the past 3 years. She is a USC.

Basically i want to know if there is any way in this world i can apply for a residency without leaving the country.

Is your mom Citizen now? If not go get marry your gf and apply for your adjustment I-485. This is the best solution I think so.

or marry your USC girlfriend. You will be an immediate relative, and your illegal presence will be forgiven, if you stay here without leaving the country.

of course, there is that issue of your coming here without inspection. But you have to research that, since you were brought here as a child.

I will go to a lawyer. But i don't have any of the paperwork of the previous case, when my mother petitioned me. Is there any way to get that?

Does immigration keep that on file?

Will they let me see what they have on me?

I would suggest doing a Freedom of Information Act request prior to filing. I can't say for sure but 245(i) may save you on the EWI and the unlawful presence, I'd have to look it up to be certain since there are some exceptions.
