I applied for US citizenship last week. I am planning to go to India in April. Assuming that the citizenship process will be done in about 3-4 months, I wanted to know whether it will be possible to get OCI before April. Just wanted to get a rough timeline about how long the OCI process takes. Does PIO get done faster? If not PIO or OCI, then India visa stamp would be my only option. Can I get that the visa stamp in a day if I go to Chicago?

----- I dont know about your Local USCIS office if they have same day oath. Newark NJ has same day oath and if your Local office is Newark it may be possible to get US citizenship in 4 Months or 4 Month 10-15 days. Then you have to get US passport. Once you get passport in hand then Post.

---Many are getting in 30 days many got in 7-8 weeks. I dont know about your Indian consulate where you will apply OCI through Travisa.
Does PIO get done faster?
-- depends on Consulate

If you apply OCI then read the OCI thread related to Indian consulate Chicago and make a guess. I prefer to keep 8 weeks time to get OCI approved in my hands.
You Can get Entry Visa for India and it may take 5-6 days. (valid for 6 months if you want to apply OCI after you come back)

April would be tough, although not impossible.

For me citizenship+USPassport took 5 months. OCI took 40 days.
