Incorrect DOB in my GC and issues with travelling

All,

I recently noticed that BCIS has mis-printed my DOB (after 14 months). The problem is that I am travelling to India on November 5th and flying back on Dec 3rd.

Can I correct my card after my India trip? This will be the most ideal situation.

If have to correct this situation by applying I-90 which means I have mail my physical card. In this case how can I travel? Do I have to get temporary stamp on my passport? What is the procedure?

This GC business is a never ending nightmare. Please feel free to share with me if anyone has been through this situation earlier.

----------------- you can do that after visit and at the time of entry to US they just swipe the card , keep your DL with you

---------- I think you can travel, nothing wrong asking your lawyer or talk to CBP officer at your POE before you go. you can go to CBP site and can find POE telephone# if you talk to them .please post what they say

-------------- nothing wrong in taking infopass with local office and ask for passport stamping. I dont think they will stamp the passport as you have the card they will ask you to file the I-90
