I plan to renew the EAD for my wife and I on my own.

Do you suggest mailing the materials in one envelop or two separate ones? What are the risks?
 
risks? Both applications are separate. It is not a credit card application where you can put the spouse as additional card holder..
 
Send in same envelope

If you do not send apps in the same envelope do not
forget to attach the marriage certs. Or else you will
get a RFE.
 
I dont think not sending in the same envelope will cause a RFE for marriage certificate. If the marriage certificate was not sent along with the original 485 application, or if the 485 receipt copy was not sent, there is a possibility of RFE

But the question is whether I should include them in one envelop so that BCIS officers know that the 2 applications are related and can process them at the same time?

So Jaxen, you are saying you prefer in two separate envelops?
 
All depends on your comfort level. Seems like a trivial matter to fight about. Either way luck and diligence from mailstaff might get you through...
