After a long wait , mine and my wife's I485 cases were approved. I logged in to check the status this morning , having no expectation that it would be approved ofcourse , and guess what - the approval was there. I checked and rechecked couple of times to make sure what I saw was correct 
The interesting thing was that my script checked the status at 08:00 yesterday night and there was no change - but in the morning it said "case approved on March01st". This means that there are status updates happening in the night to the system.
I wrote to our local Congressman sometime back, I am not sure if this trigged it or something - but I am happy that it was approved.
I would like to thank the people who built this forum and all of you friends who have accompanied us on this long journey
