Please advise me...here is my situation:

I am living in Montreal, Canada. I have a B1/B2 visa and I am not Canadian citizen yet, I am a Canadian permanent resident.

I got a job offer as a Consultant from a Canadian company that is based in Montréal, but the job requires traveling 50% to USA.

What should I do? Should I apply for H1B visa? Any advice?

Ok

This is a question you should put to your comany ......

They must be responsible to get you the business visa, why mess with h1 and waste the h1 time ....

i dont' think canadian company can apply for H1, besides the fact all the H1 was gone this year.
You need B visa.

If you will remain on Canadian payroll and make Montreal your home, then you do not need an H-1B visa to make work related trips to the US. However, having said that, be prepared to be questioned extensively every time you seek entry into the US if you will indeed spend considerable time in the US. Bottom line is, your company, and not you, need to address this issue.
