Hello,

Currently I'm in the US working on L1 B visa and the I94 expiry date is 25 May 2009. My passport is expiring on 07 Oct 2011.
I have been admitted to the one of the popular programs in one of the top universities in the US. I want to start the program from fall 2010 as a full-time student. So for this, I need F1 Visa.

On 20 May 2009, I'll leave for my home country. I'll apply for the F1 visa.
I have the following queries:

1) Is it that I won't be granted F1 Visa in June / July 2010 because I have already lived in the US for three years ?

2) I know that three months before the date of the passport expiry I need to apply for renewal. This means I need to apply in May / June 2010. Could my F1 visa be denied because I would then have approx 10 or 11 months before my passport expired ?

3) Do you see any potential problems / risk from the details that I mentioned above ?

Thank you for your help !

A1: Not neccessarily. It might even work in favour of you.
A2: Your visa will not be denied just because of your passport expiry date.
A3: The only problem will be overcoming 214(b), which every F-1 applicant has to overcome.

I also have a similar problem here but not on traveling history.I am also going for my 2nd bachelors degree for my graduate program. My sole aim is to pursue a masters degree but due to low GPA I was told to undergo some courses in the bachelors way to strengthened my GPA.just for a year. I am 30yrs old with 3yrs of active experience.
What do you think????

Hi!! Can anybody tell me what is it?
I had a visa interview yesterday and the visa officer replied me to expect my visa within 5 days. I had an emergency appointment. later in the afternoon I got a call from embassy that my passport is ready and I can collect it at 4pm.
On reaching the window, the lady sitting there informed me that my passport needs to be reviewed again and they have send me a mail regarding that asking me to submit additional information.
Can anyone tell me what is this all about.
I am really worried

You should have opened a new thread for yourself.

It seems after asking you to collect your passport, the consulate saw something that needs to be checked/verified. Wait for the letter and see what the consulate needs. What passport do you hold?
