I'm a Permanent Resident (Nicaraguan Citizen) traveling to Mexico, questions.

Greetings Everyone:

Work requires that I travel everywhere in the US, for the first time, they are sending me to do a trade show in Mexico. I have been a Permanent Resident for 3 years, and as of 5 months ago applied to become a US Citizen, still waiting for my interview appointment. Anyhow, I need to go to Mexico in May of 2007 and I am not sure what documents I need to travel to Mexico.

I will be working for about 4-5 days in Mexico. I have my Nicaraguan passport and my Permanent Resident card, both current, what else do I need? Will this have an effect on my US Citizen application?

Thank you for your help, and I apologize if I posted this in the wrong section. I tried searching but came up short.

Cheers!

- JRM

Call your consulate and see if you need a visa to Mexico. I don't see any impact on your citizenship application - I myself travelled extensively (including to your country) while on green card and with pending citizenship application.

since you will be presumably conducting business by attending a trade show you will probably need to apply for a business visa. check with your mexican consulate.

if you were to travel to mexico for pleasure, you wouldn't need a visa.
