wow, calm down will you.
I am happy for you but your IL is only 2 months in the making, many people here have been waiting for more than 1 yr + without even an interview letter.
So try to be a little bit considerate. lol
Now to answer your question, I am nto sure what the timeline looks like, but at the speed you just reached, I dont think it will be that long. You might actually get it the same day if your DO issues it.

I wish everybody here best of luck...

Thoughtful - thanks for the post. I did not know that oath letter can be hand delivered right after the interview. Does this practice vary from DO to DO?

On a separate note - I was concerned after submitting my N400 application, because I read a number of stories on these forums about the loooooong wait that a few folks have been suffering here. This IL makes me believe that there is a divine power out there.

I hope everybody awaiting an IL gets it very soon.

.

Alot of the stories about long delays deal with either last summer's backlog or pending name checks.
Hopefully the divine power won't give you a speeding ticket on your way to oath. :D

It's funny that you mentioned the driving ticket. I only had one ticket ever since I came to this country and that was back in 1995. I got my second ticket days before I was going to submit my N400 application :)

Bobsmyth - we have the same interview date. Good luck to you!

congrats and questions

Hi Haraputta,

Congrats..

Did you mention your traffic tickets on N400?

Is your name a common name?
(In other words are there any other folks by your same name? I have about 50 other people by my same name..maybe the reason I am stuck in name check.. Guys..I am just trying to make sense of why I am stuck in name check:))

All the best for your Interview.

Regards

hi niceuser

I am from newark DO 04/07 FP-05/07

I opened an ombudsman Inquiry and USCIS sent me a letter informing I am stuck in namecheck.

There are numerous pages on this site discussing "why" some get stuck in name check, whether there should be "time limits" etc etc. Although we discussing amongst ourselves and expressing frustration does not help.

USCIS/FBI has a pace set up for processing and they will do it by that irrespective of what we say so I am just waiting. Hopefully they will get to my file some day.

niceuser - thanks for the kind words... geez!!
I sincerely hope you get your interview scheduled very soon.

Waitingforins - I did not mention my driving ticket on N400. My name is not very common so I think that helped a bit. Good luck to you too on your process.

I believe it is an injustice to people when they are stuck in namecheck for so long. The government should set up a mandatory time limit on namecheck phase of N-400 and the limit should be enforced.

Technically they did that a few months back where USCIS and FBI committed to work together and eliminate all name check delays and have name checks done within 90 days starting in 2009 some time. They even have a blurb on that on the USCIS web site.

Eligibility Date

Hello,
I got GC on 12/06/03. Can I be eligible to apply by 09/06/08? That is 90 days prior to the 5yr completion. When you became PR, did you applied 90 days before?
Please let me know,
Ravi

You can apply upto 90 days in advance for your naturalization. Just be careful while counting the number of days. I became PR in 06/03 and I applied about 60 days before the completion of 5 years as being PR.
