Hi,
I have a freind who has another few months on H1B. He has been laid off recently ...its been more than 14 months since he applied for I485. He has an advance parole. Needs to travel out of the country. Would advance parole document be sufficent for him to return back to the US.
Generally at Port of Entry they ask which company one works for. Would they investigate the company in their system via H1B or EAD number. Could they deny him entry since he does not have a job. Appreciate your suggestions.

I wouldn't even try traveling overseas if I were you. The INS Officer @ POE may not investigate the company thru their system. But he/she can ask/require any additional documentation(s). That includes employer letter & paystub.

My advice: Don't take a chance unles it is an emergency where you need to weigh your options.

Good Luck!
