Idiotic question about the new civic test

Good morning everyone,I'm looking for an answer to something that is starting to make me nervous.
I'm having my citizenship test on Monday,I've studied for the test and I basically get 100% each time, well here comes my question.
For example I will bring question # 37

37. What does the judicial branch do?

*
reviews laws
*
explains laws
*
resolves disputes (disagreements)
*
decides if a law goes against the Constitution

So when I've study I would just memorize one answer, example explains the law and now I'm wondering if I need to know all of the answers and will it be required of me to actually answer 4 of them to pass one question????? There is several more question on the test with multiple answers.
If anyone has a definite answer I would appreciate it very much.

Unless the questions specifies, only 1 answer is required. For example, compare Q36 which asks "What are two cabinet level positions?

Excellent,
thank you very much,I'm stressing about it like there is no tomorrow and I've talked with someone who took the old test and concluded that the new is far more difficult,is it true? My logic very much told me that one answer was good enough as majority of the question have the same answers defined differently, example question # 12. What is the “rule of law”
Everyone must follow the law.
Leaders must obey the law.
Government must obey the law.
No one is above the law.

Well they all mean the same thing :-)
Once again thank you, wish me luck and good luck to everyone !!

I don't think the questions are any harder than old test. In the end, all you have to do is memorize the answers by practicing the questions daily. You'll do fine..good luck at the interview.

I honestly don't even think that the questions are hard,I was just concerned with my approach to studying it and possibility of failure do to it.I love the fact that I have audio CD,I listen to it in the car,I've put the questions on my MP3 player so I've got them in my little pinky ;)
This forum is great.

You are taking it too serious but yet again this is your biggest immigration milestone. Most of us went through Green Card hell. Remember those H1 revalidation, expiration renewal and all that crap.

I bet the non-naturalized citizens will answer only less than 5 questions correct if asked out of 100.

LOL,you are right on the quality of education here.
Then on other hand this is the final deal and I need to make sure that once I walked out of that office I will be smiling :D:D:D:D

.

There are also those who got the GC easy way because they are just derivatives. Or there are parents who got the GC thru their citizen
children's petitions.

Yes, getting Green Card was hell for most of us.

The question about the civic text is: Can they ask something beyond these 100 questions? I Have my nterview on Monday, so would be listening the CD while driving and then make my own flash cards.

It is really easy, the only reason why we are nervous about the interview is that we are just tired of waiting and all these procedures. But remember: this is the END of the journey!

Good Luck to everybody!

My understanding is that you will ONLY be asked questions from the 100 question poll.

Given enough preparation time (which N400 applicants get for the interview), and a real good motivation (at par with naturalization), I think many of them (but not all) could get cent percent.

I've asked Americans I know some of the test questions.

They knew that we elect members of the House of Representatives for 2 years, and Senate for 6 years, but they did not know that there are 435 voting members in the House.
They also knew if the President and Vice President can no longer serve, the Speaker of the House becomes the President.

They did not know when the Constitution was written and but knew that Thomas Jefferson wrote it.

So, do not underestimate American citizens.

So to give an update.
I've had my interview,it was no brainier,if you learn the test then you will pass.
I have been asked 6 questions, asked to read Columbus and write a simple sentence. My Oath ceremony is on 11-23-09,this journey has been long but it's almost over.

Yeah,my oath is on Monday and I've just searched the forum and I think I've made from what I see here a very common error,I haven't mentioned my minor traffic tickets ,technically yes I was cited but never for anything major.I've just called my lawyer and left him a VM.

My IO said they normally dont care for minor traffic tickets and i never even said anything to him. He told this casually.

They care only if it is really really major. So , i am sure you will be jsut fine. :D

Absolutely nothing major, something minor and stupid. Since they've scheduled me for the ceremony and it's 4 days away I think I'm just overreacting now.

Are you all preparing for the civics test using the material on the USCIS website or something else too?

Stoned!

I think Tomas Jefferson did not write the constitution. It was written by:
(James) Madison, (Alexander) Hamilton, (John)Jay and Publius.

Tomas Jefferson wrote declaration of Independence.

'Declaration of Independence ' and ' Constitution' could be confusing.

You are right. Somehow sometimes I do not say what I mean, and I made the same error and corrected it in a different thread. Indeed, Thomas Jefferson was in France when the Constitution was written but he did support the Constitution.
