hello guys,
i drove through a land border point (Canada), and i was stopped and then sent to a secondary inspection at which the customs officer asked me a lot of questions and at my replyes he was typing it in the computer.
im a green card holder and would like to apply for natz. i drove through that point a million times before and everything was ok but this last time. quite weird....
anyway , i filed a foia with CBP and it came back: surprise, all they sent me was the following:
all the dates i traveled (coming in the US), the time, the passport #, where i came in , etc.
quite interesting to see the print out, but nothing else. And I KNOW that the officer was writing something, but how do i get that, and correct it if something is innacurate?
i'm afraid that at my next travel i'll be stopped again and again.
i would like to see me IBIS record if any.
bye and take care.

Did you have your green card with you as required by law?
If not then he probably was verifying that you are indeed a resident alien.
You are worrying for no reason. If you have nothing to hide then just don't worry.

Did this report contain trips outside the USA?

As long as they did not deny you entry to the US and as long as they didn't say you were smuggling something, you should be ok.

Don't worry

yes, i had my green card with me.
all i'm saying is that how do i get a copy of the report the officer was typing in, and a copy of my IBIS record. (once a officer creates a memo of the interview it creates a IBIS record).just because is a IBIS record, it doesn't mean is something negative, however it will create a hit at future travels or applications, and therefore delays.
i just want to make sure whatever the officer was typing is accurate, and if not i would like to dispute it. the tone of the interview was somewhat confrontational, and i could tell the officer was trying to find something wrong just to mess with me, but he couldn't.
anybody here will trust an officer like that???!!!::::)))))))
all i want is the report to reflect the truth.
that's it.

The best way to find out is to make a border crossing when you are not in a hurry and see if you get pulled over for secondary inspection. If it does happen then you need to file a complaint with DHS.

I didn't ask who shares information with USCIS.

I want to know is this report contains date you left the USA.

yes, it shows both, entries and departures.
anyone can file foia with CBP, to see what's in their record.
i did and it came in the mail in less than a month.
much faster than USCIS which takes more than one year.
cheers.

Hi - thanks for clarifying that exits/entries are recorded. Can you tell if your exits (departures) via land were recorded as well? Also, what office did you submit the FOIA request to? Was it the DC office on the CBP website?

I made several road trips to Canada over the years and have tried to jot down my trips - but I know I have forgotten a few. Plus, for some I am not certain how many days I was gone - usually I'm out either the weekend or a few days beyond that (6 days max per trip). Getting a CBP report of all my land trips would be helpful since I can use that to fill out the N-400.

Thanks!

the land exits were not recorded, only the air ones. both land and air entries were recorded though.
file a FOIA with CBP on the address on cbp.gov

Did your report contain all the trips or some trips' exit were not included? Did you have all exits in the reports?
