I94 expiry in adj of status

I used AP for travel last april and my 485 is yet to be approved. I94 says paroled until 03rd April 2003. I have seen in some posts we wont be out of status and no need to extend the I94.

1. Do I need to extend the I94.
2. Is there any clear INS ruling that states we are still not out of status in such cases.

2. It is also prudent to apply for another AP. carry I485 receipt copy around to show your status...
