I am helping a friend to obtain a greencard, after I got mine (with help from this forum) last year. We are stuck on the I-864. His household size is 5 people. Only he and his wife works. His wife makes about 100% of the poverty guidelines (obviously not enough) - however, he makes more then enough above the poverty guideline (like 800%). How do we include his income on the I-864? I can't figure it out myself! Thanks for your help!
 
Yeah, I was wondering about that, however, they have been married 5 years with him working full time the entire time (20 credits), and her only working 4 years (16 credits) - so we are not at the 40 credit mark, unless we wait another 1/2 year...
 
Social Security credits cannot be simply added together like that. There are various rules involved with imputing credits from one spouse to the other. Generally, credits earned by one spouse can only be applied to the other spouse for years when only one spouse was working and they were married at the time. So it is highly doubtful your friend is close to qualifying for I-864W.

Regarding how his income can be included, you'll need to explain how he is getting the green card. Who is sponsoring him -- wife, parent, somebody else? And does he have work authorization for his job?

He's here legally on an H1B (He's a Doctor), which has been renewed since 2005. He ans his wife both work, and they got married in 2005. He is interested in the Greencard through marriage option (his wife is a US citizen by birth).
