I485 approved , need stamping details

After a very long wait my case has been approved. ( after 30 months!! )
Received the approval notice on Friday ( 05/24/02).
ND - 12/99
RD - 12/99
Did 2 FP\'s, changed employer according to AC21 and received a RFE for Employment.
My wife case is still waiting for approval.
Thanks for everyone in this discussion for their help.
You have been a source of inspiration and tremendous support to me.
I need some information regarding the stamping.
1. There is no particular date given on the approval notice on which I need to go for stamping. So I assume , I can go any day. Is that right??
2. Regarding this new security clearance procedure, does anybody have any experience in Dallas when went for stamping??

Please let us know the Approval Date (notice sent out date). Is the AVM updated?

Yes. You can go to local INS today or tomorrow.

I do not think that is relevant to PP stamping.

Please post ur experience with RFE and how u handled it. Was the job u changed to similar to old one, plz post ur designations also. that will be very helpful to the forum

My first FP is 03/00
My second FP is 12/01
RFE sent out on 04/15/02
and RFE reply received on 04/30/02
AVM updated and AD on 05/20/02
Murthy\'s firm did a great job in handling my case.
RFE reply included employment offer/continutation letter from my new employer,2 pay stubs and AC21 explantion letter from my lawyer.
The designation was "Programmer Analyst" and is same with the old employer.
I read some issues regarding the security cleanance for PP stamping.
so if some one had recently went for stamping please post details.

Today, my friend has completed Passport stamp at Dallas.

Nothing special/extra about security check. Reached by 4.50 AM and already 60-70 people infront of him and finished it by 8.30 AM.

Did he carry the original Approval notice or the courtesy copy of the Approval notice??

do you have to get the PP stamped?

Just a quick question. Do you need to get the passport stamped? Can you just wait a few more weeks for your plastic card to arrive or do they send the plastic after you get your passport stamped?
 
Passport stamping @ Dallas on 5/23

Congratulations on the 485 approval. I know you have
been waiting for a long time. I have been too until
2 weeks ago.

We (wife & myself) got my passport stamped on May-23 at the
Dallas INS office. Reached the INS office @ 5:30 AM.
There were about 100 ppl ahead of us. The office opened around
6:30 AM or so. We were allowed into the bldg. around 7:00.
We were done by 7:30 AM.

Documents we took:
1. Original 485 approval notices
2. Passports
3. I-94
4. All (note ALL) EAD/AP
5. Two ADIT photographs

No hassles with security check stuff or whatever. Also our
approval notices mentioned that we cannot go on Wednesdays.

No, only after your PP is stamped, your name is entered into database and plastic cards are ordered

Please, can anyone give the actual text of your Appr Letter, mine is :
" Your application for adjustment of status to that of a lawful permanent redident has been approved. Your ShOULD receive your resident alien card by mail in about 6 months. You MAY appear IN PERSON with the Original of this letter, and a valid passport to: Rodiono Rederal Bldf., 970 Broad Street, Neard, N.J., Room 334 to receive a temporary alian card stamp. You may arrear any Wednesday between 8:00 AM and 12:00 Noon."
