I140-I485 concurrent filing

HI, I am new comer into this website.
I have a question regarding the concurrent filing. My attorney told me that I can file both at the same time. But I am reading that you need to get the I140 receipt first, then you can file I-485. Is that true? My attorney said that I do not need to.

Also Is anyone in the same situation or has anyone already filed this way and get the receipt?

You, like me, reach that conclusion because:

- You didn't really read the message
or
- Your English is not good enough
or
- The law is too obscure for ordinary people to understand

Probably that's why we need lawyers, no matter how badly we want to kill'em all.
 
You can file them together. You do not have to wait for I140 receipt and all that...

I have already done that and have got my EAD and advance parole and also fp notification!!!!!

Could you tell me more about your co-filling and EAD application?
It seems no longer than 2 months from your co-filling 140-485 and get your EAD? (from July 31?)

My attorney will file my application(I140 & i485) today. I will see what happens. Are we going to get both receipts from I140 & I485. Or I140 first? How long does it take to get the receipt?
My attorney told me that this kind of application he filed has not gotten any receipts yet for about two weeks.

That is right.

Here is my complete details:

I filed I140/I485/EAD/ADVANCE PAROLE in a single bundle.

I got receipts for I140 in about 2 weeks and receipts for the rest of them in 4 days time after the I140 receipt.

I also got my EAD and the advance parole approval this week.

I just filed my I140/I485/EAD/Advance parole today. My lawyer said that it will take 12 weeks to get the receipt from INS!! You are so lucky. I wish I could be that lucky. :)

Do you file EB2 or EB1? Does it matter in term of processing time?

Concurrent filing Question ???

Will INS accept concurrent filing of I-140 and I-485 after Sep 30(end of trial period).

Does anyone has more info on this ???

My lawyer is not sure about this.

Ramss/wang1, where did you filed , I mean which state Nj/Philly

Because my MD is close to your dates , did not get any approval , but got receipts from INS it took 2 weeks from ins to lawyer to my home

Once 484 is filed EB2/EB!/EB3 all are same , they will go by RD.

I filed from VA.

You are right about the 485. EB category do not matter there.

Did you check the status of your EAD/ADVANCE PAROLE cases through phone???

Yeah I got Rcpts .My EAD/AP is approved they are in mail .

received rcpts with in 10 days and approval with 12 days both EAD/AP .I applied in NJ.
 
I filed from MA.
I just filed last Thursday (September 12,2002). I did not get anything yet. I hope I can get the receipt soon. How long does it take you to get your receipts?
 
By what method you sent the documents we sent the documents in FEDEX pirorty overnight . usually Rcpt date and notice date one week difference and after they received it takes 10 days maximum.

I haven't got receipts

My lawyer said INS receieved on Aug. 29 according to postal return notice. It's been over two weeks. My checks haven't been cashed either.
