Guys, After reading the thread about Selective service registration here I decided to register for it so went to SSR website. I put all my information but it said that I was already registered. I was shocked as it showed a date back in 2003. That time I was in different non-immigrant status. How could I have registered. I think every person who enters the country legally they enter you in to that system. Anyone with similar experiences?

They could have registered you in a number of ways. When you applied for your driver's license or for a government job. Did you fill you a FAFSA? it registers you. Also the I-485 form asks you for permission to register you.

Nonimmigrant visa holders are NOT required to register.

Same thing happened to my brother. He never applied but he was registered somehow. He had no driver's lecense or any ID because he just got asylum. I on the other hand had a driver's license, social security number but was never registered by SSS. Caused me a lot of problems when I applied for college financial aid. Thank God my college solved the problem for me as I am older than 26.
