Hi all,

Could anyone please give me a rational explanation(or at least an educated guess), how can my file be updated 3 days in a row, yet the status is still the same?

Current Status:

On August 5, 2005, we received your response to our request for evidence or information. It is taking between 570 and 600 days for us to process this kind of case. However because preliminary processing was complete, the remaining processing time will be less than the maximum stated in this message. You will receive a written decision on this case.

I did biometrics on 08/26/05, subsequently LUD was 08/26, 08/29, then nothing untill 10/05, then it changed on 10/06, and today 10/07, yet status message remains the same.

Also, what exactly does it mean when a case has been updated without a change in message.

I am cofused :confused: :confused: :confused:


What in the world is goin' on?

Mine is very similar as you mentioned. When were you granted asylum ? I was in Dec 1999 filed for 485 in Dec 2000. Had been finger printed numerous times in past. This year March finished my medical as USCIS asked for. On July had my code 2 FP taken & last week received another FP notice with code 1 notice for next week. Now isn't is weird how many times one could be finger printed in a year? Also what does actually this FP notice code stands for?

Approved 09/15/05.

LUD is last update on your case online at uscis.gov
Code 2 is not fingerprints but biometrics (photo + index print + signature)
Code 1 is fingerprints but since privacy rules won't allow CIS to keep them on file they need to get fresh ones every time need to run a FBI check on you (like before getting approved)

My medical was done on 03/2005, FP code 2 on 07/2005 now received another FP notice with code 1 for October,2005.
Does that mean I'm getting closer ??

By the way my asylum approval was Dec,1999, RD Nov,2000,ND Dec 2000. Case got transfered to NSC from TSC & RD for that case transfer was Dec 2000 but ND June 2002 :D :confused: :mad:
LUD 03/10,03/10,03/18,03/18 & lastly 07/11,07/11,07/11.

My man just be positive.You're gonna be fine.What I do know is a lot of applications received by uscis between Oct,2000 and Dec,2000 are still being held by uscis for no reason.Hope they will process these applications very soon.There is no reason to approve earlier cases while the older ones are still pending

Wantmygcnow,lazerthegreat,Karina and other veterans,I'm sharing this tough experience with you all.I invite yopu all to keep your fingers crossed and your seat belt fasten.Officers who are giving you all a hard time will finally give up sooner or later and you all will be fine.Wantmygcnouw,don't forget about a party for we all from a big asylee's familly in DC as soon as we all are free.Even if you hold it in Germany,I will fly with you.
