Yeahhh.I am in awwh..Time frame was perfect..I did the normal processing since i had no trips planned [Now im plannig..lol]..Applied on 9th October, day after i got citizenship..I listened to the postal clerk when she said since it is off peak time it will come back in three weeks time. And the postal clerk was right.Three weeks one day to be exact.Yesterday [10/30/09] i did receive email saying that my passport was finished processing and out for delivery..Check USPS status this morning and it was out for delivery.Rush to mail box and there it was..WOOOH...So my advice to folks who dont have trips planned please dont waste that extra cash on expedited service in OFF PEAK season. Thanks folks for you help..

PS.
For those folks in New Jersey who want to keep track of their passport...
Applied for PP 9TH October
Status changed 10/30/09
Received PP & NAT CERT 10/31/09 [came from PORTSMOUTH,NH]

Congratulations! I agree that expedited processing is not needed in most cases, and people can save the extra money.

Congrats. So where is your first trip planned to as a US citizen?

After becoming a Canadian citizen, my first trip was to the US.
After becoming a US citizen, my first trip was to Canada, though I did not use my US passport until my return :)

Got Passport yesterday :)

Me and my wife took citizenship recently. My son is not born in US and has Indian Passport. Do I have to file something with USCIS for my so to get a US Citizenship and passport or just I have to file for US passport?

I think you should open a separate thread on the citizenship thread, you'll get more traction there for your question. This amounts to thread hijacking as your question has little to do with the subject of the thread. I'll answer your question though. If your son has a Green Card he most surely has derived citizenship through your naturalization. Go to the post office with your wife and son and your son's birth certificate, mother's naturalization certificate and yours just in case, son's Green Card and passport pictures of your son (I think 2). There is more information in the department of state passport page (look for details in the passport form itself as your particular case might not be described on the web page but it is described on the form itself). If you have trouble getting to the form online you can drop by a post office and pick up a physical passport form. If I were you I would apply for both passport book and passport card, that way you have a backup in case one of the documents is lost.

You don't need to do anything with USCIS, but I would recommend you to apply for N-600 (certificate of citizenship) for your son in parallel to the passport application (they can be done at the same time as the N-600 only needs photocopies of documents).

I hope this clears things up.
