Thanks. The next round of NYC ILs should begin arriving in 2 weeks, so I hope mine's in there somewhere!

Congrats Vlorak! Get cracking with the study booklet. LOL Actually it is very easy and will be a piece of cake for you.

Now you can relax a little and focus your energies on that overdue visit to your family.
 
thank you guys, i actually ran a sugar buzz all day yesterday. couldn't believe it. i am going shopping today just to say congrats to myself then starting from tomorrow i shall get started studying and collecting documents. it's 4 weeks and 6 days til my interview. YAY.
 
After fingerprinting, how can I find name check cleared? Calling customer service doesn't tell that? Do I need to take Infopass?

I called my dad yesterday and told him he better get ready to celebrate my kids' 4th/ he couldn't believe it/ i actually regretted telling him cause i thought he will surely get a heart attack. since yesterday my mom has been killing my cell bill sending txt message (they're 49 cents a message from overseas) asking me when specifically we're going. hahaha
there's so much to do. well i got myself some dresses :), then two starbucks coffees :) now i just returned and ordered the tax transcripts (i had for the 04,05 and 06) but not for 03 and 07. got those in order. i glanced at the booklet but my study will ended about 7 years ago. i need to get myself motivated. then i told my kids we're going to go to see grandma and granpa and one of mine said: but you can't. you're not american (inside joke, daddy always tells the girls we can't see grandma and grandpa cause mami is not american). then i said mami will become american soon, and my other kid started saying the pledge of allegiance :) sooo funny and cute. i am still in such disbelief i might have this done this summer. OH AND TO VOTE!!!!! YAY.
sorry you guys. there has been a lot of build-up frustration waiting for the IL and now that is here i wanna make copies of it and frame them all over the house (ok, i won't do that, but you know what i mean).

when they tell you over the phone that you've been put in queue for interview that means the background checks have been done. i was put in queue 7 days after the fingerprints because i had this thing valid since last year when i applied for the 10 yr green card.
 
Hey, it's understandable! You finally know when your naturalization experience will come to an end. I'd imagine that anyone gets the same feeling when their IL arrives!

Did you still get an FP letter for your N-400 and have to do a new FP even though your FPs were valid from your GC application?

i still had to do it, feb.13th, 2008, but when i called like two weeks later they said i was put in queue on feb. 18th. the only way to explain it being so fast was the background checks done last year

(Make sure you leave enough time between interview and possible oath date for your jurisdiction and to get your passport when you're making your travel plans.)

My question to vorpal was about how he/she knows that NYC DO will start sending new interview letters in next 2 weeks, as he said. But it is actually silly question. Of course, he can’t have this information since he's not working there. It is just his prediction.
