Hi, I am a valid H1B visa holder, and applying my marriage-based GC.
My I-130 has been approved and I just got I-485 receipt for the GC process.
Even if I quite my job now, Can I stay legally in the US right now?
Or, must I wait for I-485 interview done or issue of GC?
I will appreciate your advice very much! Thank you!!

----Yes but if due to any reason your I-485 gets denied you will not be having any status like H1B.

------ You can wait

I don't understand why do you want to quite the job just because you got I-485 filing receipt?

Do you plan to get another job? If yes, try to line up the next job before you quit the current job. It's generally harder to get a job when you're unemployed, and when you're unemployed they'll offer you less salary.

But to answer your question -- yes you can quit and continue to stay in the US legally until your I-485 is decided.

Thank you!

Thank you for all advice!
Why do I want to quit a job? Because I have been burned out with 14 hour work a day (no weekend). In this weak economy I may have to think I am lucky to have a job, but just wanted to change the pace of my life after my marriage. And the spring is the best time to leave the office because so many new tasks will come in from the summer, which makes me more difficult to leave the office. Of course I may need to have a back-up for a chance that I-485 is denied, but I am not counting it somehow. Anyway, all is about my selfish life :D

14 hours a day, 7 days a week? You don't even have time to look for another job if you're working that much. Yes, if I were you I'd quit as soon as I got the I-485 receipt. But when I'm quitting I'd also pour a bucket of dirty toilet water on my boss, unless I was being paid something like $200K.
