Hi falks,
I am very much happy to share this good news that I received my Green Card approval notice today. A long long waited year has just gone. It' took me almost a year to receive. Its right after i returned to USA from 2 months vacation from India. I think its nice way to welcome back in USA. I am very much happy to share this:D :D Thanks for your all supports. I will still be in this forum.
 
congrats ... my asylum was approved Jan 1999 and i am still waiting for my GC ? how can some one who got approval 6 years after me get his/her GC and i am still waiting ?? Can some one help me here please .

It used to be the more senior the the better; now it is the other way around; the fresher the better...surprise:confused:

Its fast comparing to others who have been waiting for more then 4 years. No was not in military service.. Infact I tried to join in military service a year ago but US army said I must need GC or USC to eligiable for Military service...!!!! I am waiting see GC which is I guess on mail.....NEPZ06:p

So when you say:
LPR since 3-15-206
And Eligible for citizenship: 4-24-07
Is that a wishful thinking or there were changes to the law as we now it…


I would expect for you to be eligible for citizenship in 2011 according to the current law, so what is going here?

Yeah....It was very fast for you to get your greencard within a year compared to us who has been waiting for over 5 years...Glad for your approval though...

First, Congratulations nepz06!! I also have notice date from Jun/06 and am waiting to see if my star will shine.

Now armin78 , I am not sure what you ND is, but based on the fact that you say your asylum was granted in 99, I am assuming you filed for your GC in 2000.

There many threads, posts in this forum where people describe how they inquired and even sued USCIS to get their green cards. As someone posted here before, it used to be the older the app the better, now it's the other way around. This may sound disencouraging but I meant to encourage you- It looks like they are putting the old application in the drawer and processing the new ones. let's be reasonable here people, there is no reason why they would process a year old applciation and ignore an old one.

i advice you to schedule an appointment with your local office, (Info Pass), ask the moderators and other frequent posters in this forum- Get information on how to whine and get your green card.

I am here anxious to get approved on my 2006 ND, but when I see cases like yours I do get MAD. Do your thing, you can only wait so much. And keep us posted.

i got asylum from a judge on april 23 2007, when i file parmenent resident card after a year on april 24 2008, when will I get the gc card ?
 
within 6months of ND but Processing fees gonna be $900

Action6:!!! as of USCIS current processing schedule, you would expect your GC within 6 months of ND. but now they are rising the processing fee from $395 to $900 (approx) for each new application after next months. I think this is for extra recuits in USCIS to expedite the applications....!!!!!!..NEPZ06

Congrats! We should consider ourselves very lucky comparing to those thousands of people who have been waiting literaly for years and years before they got their Green Cards approved.

Armin: Believe me it is worth trying to get Infopass and talk to those guys at the local USCIS about your case, but believe me the only thing you will learn from them is that you know more than they know, as regards your case.

I don’t know about your notice date, but those whose asylum was granted in the 1999s were given their greencards except a few who got stuck for one reason or another; and I think the reason you got stuck may have to with the fact that you were careless about your case; not pushing it hard and the officer who has your case has shoved it to the sidelines.
Your options: first, if you go the USCIS office through infopass, the only thing they can do is, if you meet a knowledgeable and nice officer, is to initiate a inquiry for you. This inquiry makes the officer that has your case, respond within 45 days. Basically, the answer could be of anything, an approval, a denial, or the reason for which he delaying your case; however, if you call the 1800 number at your home you can get the same result; In another option, you may want contact your congress/man/woman for assistance. Also you may wanna contact the office of the Obdusman; they are helpful. Any case, you will need to create some noise to let the officer know that you are there…it is also possible that your file may have been sent to wrong office, or may have been lost.. so just make as much noise as you can…good luck
 
I applied for my i-485 on jun of 2000 , I have contacted ins and then uscis continuously. last may i went for bio and for past 2 years i gave sent several letter to DHS , NSC and call 1800 numbers like 100 times and recently i contacted my congress man and senators and office of Obdusman. I also requested a FIOA from fbi and they sent me a letter stating that i have no file with them. As i said last may USCIS sent me a letter for BIO. so i think i have done whatever i could in my power and after infopass if i don't get any result , i will file WOM. the thing is piss me of is , people who applied like 4 years after me got their GC but i am still waiting and no one can tell me why my case is being delayed it really makes me angry. thanks any way
