I am not advocating for someone to defraud US govt. However, are we going to just accept that it is mandatory, so let these women get pinched with a needle while losing $400? I don't know any illegal options because I never had to take this shot or my wife isn't required to do it either. I hope Obama change this policy soon, drug companies have become fat on the corpses of american citizens, are we expecting them to stop when they see an immigrant? :confused:

The civil surgeon has to accept the allergy proof and make a note of it to send with the I-693. You cannot just bring it to the interview.

Legal options are to leave the US until age 26, or stay in the US in some other status (for example, student or work visa) until age 26.

I don't understand why they can't just give you a smear, all clear, get out! I was honestly scared for a few days after having this vaccine that I was just going to drop dead! A 19 year old got the vaccine, went to bed that night and didn't wake up! Also ever since I got it my arm cramps up randomly (I barely get cramps if ever until this..) right where the injection was, no idea if it's just coincidence or what, but it's the same sort of pain that the HPV vaccine caused when I first had it....

I did consider just going home, but I just ended up going for it and regretting it immensely...

It's actually making me tear up again thinking that I could've f***ed my body up for the sake of the US government...

It's worth noting that almost ALL vaccines have a mortality or side effect rate, it's just significantly lower than the disease itself.

I never acted against the law in my entire life! i know here, in USA i am nobody and in a different country i have to follow their rules,or otherwise some of u would say:"just go back then ,if u dont like the system here". But its not about if i like it or not.It`s not that i disagree with the fees,timeframes,procedures and etc. This is about health and life. What about if i never wake up tomorrow after the shot, as it happened to women already? Is that the price of getting a green card to stay with my husband? CDC won’t make any rules blindly without any rationale. It definitely based on clinical trial data and risk benefit ratio.

Well you don’t like to lose your life for green card.
So why do other people have to get cervical cancer because of letting you stay here and you not taking the vaccine?
Is that their health is not as important as your health?

As you can see in the posting above, this drug is going to make a billions of $$$ for the manufacturer, and some FDA commissioner is smilling all the way to the bank too. Do you know how these drugs are approved? :confused: It is a big business, so as long as no prominent person dies from this drug, the victims of this drug will remain nameless and unheard. However, when someone famous dies and lawsuits are filed, then we want to acknowledge all the side effects which drug makers have known for years, but because $$$ is the ruler of man's consciousness, we looked the other side. :rolleyes: A couple of years ago, Merck & Co was sued for vioxx, investigatin revealed the the upper echolons of the company knew the side effects and decided to ignore and silenced any officials who wanted to inform the federal govt. So, until you die and wake up from Gardisil, get a shot baby and pay for it, what do you think this is? :rolleyes: I am for opposing any federal law screwing immigrants, while enriching the shareholders of this drug company...:mad:

Jack, I wonder if you would hold these views if your wife was required to get this shot and knowing all these side-effects? Would you move to Europe till she was 26 years to avoid this drug? If were running low on the soldiers and we trying very hard to pass one through the goal posts, would you still want her to take the shot while knowing the side-effects?

However, CDC says they did not intend it to be mandatory for anybody. CDC only recommended the vaccine, but then USCIS took that advice and made it mandatory for green card applicants.

As far I am aware, a parked car has never posed any danger to me, but one in motion by a drunk driver is the one to fear. You sound like a lobbyist for the pharmaceutical industry, wait till USCIS require that you to be on viagra as part of the LPR process and your wife happens to be in Mumbai for 5 months...:eek:

i think, by being a woman and of course i wanna have kids one day, IT MUST BE MY RIGHT TO MAKE A DECISION WHAT GOES INTO MY BODY -SINCE I CANT SPREAD THE DESEASE BY CAUGHTING OR SNEEZING?another thing. HPV is not a desease u can catch ONLY by sexual contact. It is mutating of the cells and there are 100 different kind of cervical cancer.and i can tell u right now-i am not being a lab rat so that the government is making money for me.

Jack, not each and everything that the US govt requires of immigrants is acceptable. I can list thousands of drugs which have killed people, including American citizens which FDA approved due to pressures from the drug dealers also known as pharmaceutical companies. The OP should find a doctor who can clearly explain her situation, I know many doctors who lie to prescribe unnecessary drugs to patients, because sales people from powerful drug companies offers them a cut of profits at the end of the year. HPV is an infectious disease that causes thousands of cancer deaths each year and Gardisil is a tested drug that is proven to save lives. theadder is free (as are you) to believe pseudoscience claptrap and conspiracy theories and be against the vaccine, but she is not free to commit immigration fraud or rewrite America's vaccination requirements as she clearly intends to do so.

If she has a bona-fide sensitivity to the vaccine she should communicate the concerns to the surgeon and ask for a waiver, but since she has none, she needs to suck it up and get the shot or forget about immigrating before she turns 26, end of story.

Without being insensitive to the issue, I did read some of links that were posted and came away with the impression that what they say have absolutely no scientific basis or validity, besides being purely opinion or random chance. That said, it is absolutely an individual's prerogative to decide what vaccines to take. If you decide not to take a vaccine, then there definitely will be workarounds to it (such as waivers).

The discussion board is a virtual support structure and people will have differing opinions especially on a contentious issue like this one. People have their opinions and whether you decide to take a shot or not is purely your choice. If you really think you are wronged (by being asked to take the shot) you can obviously go to court. But as long as these laws are in place you either go with them or work with the waivers and take your chance. Just my 2 cents, without adding much to "real problem" being discussed here :)
 
I got the shot. Its the law. Don't agree with it, but if I continue to worry about it ill make my self sick. I put my faith in God. If its my time, then I have no control over it. This vaccine however was the first time I ever had a reaction. Whole arm and hand was a tough rash for a week. And it was bloody expensive.
 
there is no waver for me anymore. i took and sent my medical i 693 3 months ago..without the hpv shot,
 
I guess they will send you an RFE, maybe then you can request a waiver letter from the civil surgeon. Isn't that possible?
I have to think before you get your interview letter the vaccination part has to be cleared up. So I think you can prepare yourself to get the waiver.
