I became a US citizen this week, but when will I become an American?

I became a US citizen this week, but when will I become an American?
Not even sure if the question makes any sense, but I'm not sure what
I am feeling right now. Obviously I am happy about it. It was a long &
interesting journey.

Perhaps I will feel even more differently, once my U.S. passport arrives
and I travel overseas & return the the US again? :)

Depends what you define as being "American". In many parts of the world today I don't think you would want to be known as "American".

you got a point... I'm still happy that I'm now a citizen...

but durnig my oath ceremony, the image of the Borg kept popping into my head... in a way, I have been assimilated into the collective now! :D

The only trouble with that is if you really aren't Canadian or know nothing about Canada and people start asking you about Stephen Harper or Don Cherry and what poutine really is :D

wow.... this means I've been an Amercan almost all my life!
In my home country, there was a Dunkin Donuts on the next block
and my family ate countless donuts from them over the years! :)
(three more blocks down the road there was a McD and KFC)

hahaha, i know. Its just not good to be an american right now in a foreign country :( I saw it first hand where americans would get yelled at and every conversation you'd get is about bush and politics even if you say you dont support the war and bush admin. Kinda sad:(

that's why I became a citizen... so I can vote in November...
(but unfortunately, I don't know which candidate is likely to
make the US more likable to other countries :( )

when I was a kid many many many years ago, the USA was
like the nation that everybody liked and respected.... :)
 
You dont really become an American till hook up with a Hot Blonde Bombshell. It's a rite of passage.
