Which immigration office did you send your papers?

i sent my document at texas service station. it is worth mentioning though that it took one year for me to get usa student visa because my name went to background check, i know the feeling to wait... i would say good luck to you

That's strange! I checked on the website and it says that forms in Texas i485 must wait 5.3 months and Nebraska 4 months.
So I guess they are really fast doing the papers!

MINE IS STILL LIKE THIS :
Your case can not be found at this time in My Case Status. Please check your receipt number and try again. If you need further assistance, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1.800.375.5283.

and was it religious asylum ? or political ? i mean Iranian or just normal political ?

gandrud, it does not say must wait, it says average time. and average 5 month may mean few people getting in a month and few in 10 month. but average is 5 months. i was expecting that as well. but thanks havenly father, i didnt have to wait. i feel lucky

syrian , i applied for green card not asylum. i had asylum aproved one year ago. in asylum case, my status was directly in card/document production. and before that it was same as yours

Hello Assyle.
Did you have to do biometrics when you applied for the green card?
My application was received on march 8. I still have no update about the biometrics appointment. I'm still at the initial review step. "On March 8, 2013, we received this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS and request that the filing fee be waived. The filing fee has been waived and we have mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. This case is being processed at our Intake Processing Center. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you."
I did get the notice. All it said was that my case is currently being processed at the Nebraska service center.

Hey Assyle, Im sorry to say but IF YOU HAVENT DONE YOUR BIOMETRICS THERE IS NO WAY THAT YOUR GREEN CARD WAS APPROVED...My case says the same thing "we received this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS" When your biometrics is done and "clean" THEN your Green Card will go to the next step, "Production". My friend works for the IO in SF and he told me that. Your green card CANT be approved without your fingerprints!

Hello Syrian.
I'm guessing you are talking about the Asylum interview. Assyle was discussing his green card process not the asylum's. My Asylum application was sent to San Francisco and it took about 3 weeks to get my card in the mail. I don't know about Chicago but I will advise you starting a new thread; you will get more answers.

Hello brother

thank you for replying
but did you say that you have been granted after 3 weeks of the interview ?
thanks

dont worry, you will get letter in few days, within a week maximum. It will have an appointment date of your biometrics.

decision process takes 2 weeks maximum, if it is taking long time, then it is probably because of name check or something fbi related delay... which is common in many names, not because of immigration office delay. i have seen people waiting over one year, dont want to disappoint you but just telling you that i could be from 2 weeks to 2 years. most of the cases get solved in one month though.
hopefully i answers.

Congrats again Assyle and good luck to what you are looking for. You are lucky and ur application get approved quick. I have a question for you. How long it took for your asylum to get approved? I heard, if the asylum approval took longer the same thing might happen during the GC process. I hope this is not going to happen to me again.

Thanks

my asylum aproval took less than 2 weeks after interview, so yea both process were really quick. but let me tell you this, that might help you. when i applied for usa visa (student visa) i had to go for 2nd fingerprint and it took over one year for name check etc. i think if it takes long time once it is very quick after that any time. now i am not an expert it could be totally wrong. but when i applied for asylum i was thinking like you that it will be very long, but unexpected happen.... hope it answers
