i am so happy, i love usa.

my asylum aproval took less than 2 weeks after interview, so yea both process were really quick. but let me tell you this, that might help you. when i applied for usa visa (student visa) i had to go for 2nd fingerprint and it took over one year for name check etc. i think if it takes long time once it is very quick after that any time. now i am not an expert it could be totally wrong. but when i applied for asylum i was thinking like you that it will be very long, but unexpected happen.... hope it answers

My student Visa took 3 months to be cleared but now I have been waiting for 75 days ... I got my recommended approval in 7 days tho !

hmm, well if that the case i cant say... i dont know what is normal visa processing time but in some countries 3 month is kind of normal... hopefully you get it soon.. atleast they started issuing recommended aprovals, thats relief... as i said in that post i could be totally wrong but that what was my experience

Hey Assyle, Im sorry to say but IF YOU HAVENT DONE YOUR BIOMETRICS THERE IS NO WAY THAT YOUR GREEN CARD WAS APPROVED...My case says the same thing "we received this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS" When your biometrics is done and "clean" THEN your Green Card will go to the next step, "Production". My friend works for the IO in SF and he told me that. Your green card CANT be approved without your fingerprints!

Hello Syrian
Yes it took about 3 weeks after the interview to get my employment card in the mail. The decision process doesn't take that long. It's the background check and card processing that can take like for ever.

dont worry, you will get letter in few days, within a week maximum. It will have an appointment date of your biometrics.

OMG you were right. I got my fingerprint notice in the mail today :) Thank you for your support.

Need advise on N400

Hello All! I am new to this web-site, but hope someone can help me to get some clarification
I have filed for removal of temporary green card conditions and my case is under review for 3 years already. It's still on the desk of immigration officer in New York, as i was told. Meanwhile, USCIS stamps my passport every year with 1 year green card stamp. Now it has been 5 years i live in USA and want to apply for Citizenship, USCIS customer service told me that i can send N400, but it will be pending till my case on permanent green card is not closed. Original case is NYC, while now i live in NJ for a past two years. Do you think the first case will need to be transferred to NJ after i apply for Citizenship? if yes, this can delay it significantly and paperwork can get lost. Should i just apply for Citizenship in NYC? Did you hear of anyone who was approved for Citizenship with no permanent green card and only yearly stamps in passport? Any information will be greatly appreciated! Thank you very much!

the Officer had to fly from San Francisco to Seattle because there's no service center in Washington. I applied in February 2011, my interview was in April 2011 and I was approved in May 2011.
