I-94's and H1 approval first time

Hi all,

I was previously on an F1 visa and have now been approved for H1 (1st time). The I-797 form i received had a perforated i-94 that i stapled (by instruction) to my existing i-94 in my passport.
Both of these i-94's were turned in as I left the US to Canada for my interview.

Today I had my visa interview at a consulate in Canada and the folks there took my i-797 form which still had the "detach this for personal records" i-94 on it. I have been asked to return tomorrow to pick up my passport.

My questions are as follows:
1) I have copies of my i-797 form, does the consulate return this form to you with the passport and new visa stamped on it?

2) If they dont, does it matter that I did not remove and keep the i-94 labelled "detach this for personal records" on my 1-797??

Thanks in advance...

------------- consulate will return orignal H1 approval (if they dont ask for it)
2) If they dont, does it matter that I did not remove and keep the i-94 labelled "detach this for personal records" on my 1-797??
---------- that is not problem they know you have given your all I-94 when entred canada. FYI one does not need to surrunder I-94 if trip to Canada is less than 30 days.
**** get the new I-94 till visa stamp validity at POE
Thanks in advance...
