I-94 taken away by the airline check in agent

Hi All,
I never thought this will happen to me but was shocked to find out later in the plane that airline agent took my 3 year I-94 form out. I am overseas now with my wife, I have a copy of my I-94 form and my passport is also stamped and I-94 form number is written on it. My wife is not a canadian a citizen and last time she aplied for TD visa and took my I-94 form copy to the US embassy and was able to get her TD visa.
Now please tell me what should we do:
1. Should my wife go to the US consulate taking my I-94 form copy that was taken away by the airline agent and apply for the visa?

2. Should I get a new letter from my employer and apply for the new TN visa overseas along with my wife apply for her TD? if yes can my employe send me a letter as an attachment and email it to me (to expedite the process)or it has to be the letter with sign in ink?

Any suggestion will be very highly appreciated.

The agent acted corrctly. Why the "shock". We have stated this so often. Thatis thewhiole point for bringing a copy with you.

Your copy of I-94 will get you in on TN, and will get your spouse in on TD, her visa is still good.

Stop worrying, all did exactly what they were supposed to do, including you.

Frankly, I'm pretty disappointed that, after being a reader on this board for quite a time, you would have been (a) so unknowledgeable of what was going on and (b) hadn't gotten all this clear in you mind before leaving by asking questions here first.

Are we all wasting our time here posting anything?

I am sorry for not making it clearer that my wife's TD visa has expired, she was in status while in the US. Now she needs a new TD visa to re-enter.
Can she take a copy of my I-94 copy and apply for her TD like last time? and thanks for a quick reply Nelson.

Yes. I assume this was a planned visit to the consulate, since it is not usually a quick thing to get an appointment.

Thanks a lot to both of you. I am feeling much better now! And yes this is a planned visit and for 4 weeks. Hopefully my wife will get her TD in this time. Process of visa here can take from 2 to three weeks. Thanks again
