Hi,

When I came from India, I have a i-94 with xxx number and when I observed it today, I have a i-94 with a different number. I have been here for 6 years and 7th year running now. Actually in between, I have changed lot of employers but I never went out-of-status. I was wondering when it could have changed? Will the number change at alll? If so, when will the number change. Otherwise, we always have one number?

Appreciate it.

Thanks

-------------- I dont understant your statement, you came from India and have white I-94 with XXXXXXx, when you observed today what happened? it is the same I-94 that you got stamped at POE and it has same # on it

------------ when you go out you give your I-94 with XXXXX # to airline and get new I-94 with YYYYYY#when you come back and diffrent I-94 will have diffrent I-94 # on them

Appreciate it.

Thanks

If you come with #123456789 "I 94 " number first time, the same number will continue for your 6 years or more H1 duration even after extension or transfer, provided you never went out of US and come back.

Once you go out and come back you will have new I 94 number, 987654321 only. This is not a car license plate, where you will get your personalized number or name

That make sense and understood. I have thought the same thing that I will have a personalized number.

The reason I am asking is that I am curious whether I went out of status any time since the time I came to USA. If I have this problem there is a possibility that my visa stamping gets rejected right?

How can out find it out sir?

This is simple, did you stayed beyond I 94 card date or if you got I 94 at the bottom of your H1 approval notice during extn/transfer, in this case validity of H1 is the I 94 date.
Check the dates.

1.Yes, I have stayed beyond the white(i-94) card date.
2.Little clarification here please. You mean, I need to check Green I-94 dates on each of my H1 transfer/ extension starting from the time I came to US right?

You came to US first time your white I 94 card after that all the I 94 (Bottom portion of H1 approval notice) dates. (I.e) H1 approval validity date.
