I-90 and N-400

Question for the gurus. I have a friend who was within 3 months of expiration of her green card ( 10 year). She has eFiled her I-90 to renew her 10 year card. Can she also send her N-400 or should she wait till her card gets renewed? She has Bio-metric app next week.

She can file the N-400 now, and bring the expired green card and I-90 receipt to the interview if they have not issued the new card before the interview.
 
Yes she can file.
I have the same experience whereby my new 10yr GC has a typo error. Per my attorneys advise, we sent it back for correction since October 2012 and have not heard anything yet but I have filed my N400 already last month.
 
Just wanted to update my friend went to Biometric app was in and out in 10 min. They put a new strip on back of greencard extending it till mid 2014. Now a question she is getting ready to send N-400 does she need to send pictures? I have read some post saying this is not needed anymore. Is that right?
