hi there,

I have some questions regarding form I-864.
I am sharing same house/address with my mother and brother. both are permanent Resident. I haven't sponsored them to immigrant to US. I filed the all and recent IRS tax returnd as "Single".

I'm sponsering my wife who live aborad now . So in order to complete the part 5, Questions 21a through 21h,

on 21a total number entered at line10, ...... 01,
on 21b yourself..... 01

on 21c what should I put, if I put 01 again, because I married, my wife will be count again because she is counted on 21a, if not then I am married, it says "if you are currently married enter 1"

by the way I filed my recent IRS tax as an "Single" because my wife is still in Abroad. so, would simplely enter "0" here?

Your answers, advice will be greatly helpful.

thanks,

It depends on if you are the breadwinner in your household. Your spouse and all children of yours count. The sponsored immigrant counts. The MINIMUM household size is 2 (the sponsoring petitioner and the sponsored immigrant).

If you support your mom and brother they count. If they will add their income to help you meet the income requirements, they count.

I am not supporting my brother and Mom. They have their own income. I filed IRS tax as Single. I am not using their income to meet minimum household income requirement...!

so, put '0' at 21c even I am married because my spouse was count already at line10....? Need help

Look at the I-864P for the minimum amount of income required. Do you make enough? That is the most important thing to worry about.

Your household size is 2. Yourself = 1, your wife = 1. Write a "1" in the appropriate spot for yourself and your wife, but don't list anyone twice. That might mean you have to put a zero somewhere that you're not inclined to put a zero.
