I-797 Question. Urgent.

Hi all,

Got petition from employer (I-797A) with I-94 attached . Also I just got the COPY of "I797C, Notice of Action" .

I am going to Matamoras on 30th Oct for Visa stamping. Is orignal "I797C, Notice of Action" required during stamping ?

Is petition (Notice Of Action with I-797a and I94 attached) is sufficient ?

The one with I-94 attached is for you and the copy is typically sent to employer. They are essentially same and it should be sufficient if you carry the original i.e., one with I-94. Do not forget to take current employment letter (confirmation), pay stubs for last 3 months. Also, if you can, try to take copy of the LCA (filed with H1B), bank statement (for proof of address), degree certificate (evaluation, if required) and any other required docs with you for visa stamping as we may never know what might be asked.

Please check with your lawyer and/or the consulate website that you are visiting for the list of required docs.

------------also take the full petition copy that was sent to USCIS (copy of form I-129+LCA) it may be with lawyer who filed H1 petition
