ok the bottom line you look on case from a different perspective than I do. When you provide affidavit, you should always give out phone number to contact affiant. if USCIS call all of nowhere and interview by phone, there may be some credible finding or ommitions, comparing to just looking at a bunch of papers that "do not have a soul, and cannot talk"

I never said "any weight", I said "do not carry much weight when compared to other proof of cohabitation". There is a difference. My opinion is based on the understanding that USCIS considers it easier to get friends and family to provide bogus affidavits than getting fraudulent documents proving financial cohabitation. Take the following litmus test. Suppose there are two couples submitting I-751s. One couple supplies just financial cohabitation documents and other couple provides just affidavits from friends and friends. Which couple in your opinion is more likely to get an RFE?

But there may be officer who is just fond of affidavits! Then reverse is true(1% cases)

Tirple, I see you many times writing the same thing. Would you care elaborate on this subject? why you think Affis dont have any weight? Pretty much everything financial-wise can be cooked up, whether legal way or illegal. You go to Kinkos and made up most financial stuff, no problem, and USCIS is limited with ways of checking stuff up, they would have to have judge approval to check your credit cards, bank statements, etc. Most banks have Immigration Type letter but whats the problem for getting spause name on the account, getting letter and removing her from it? Whats the problem getting taxes done together, etc? I am not encorage anyone to do so, I am jsut saying. Where I do see a problem is providing USCIS with multiple affidavits from friends and family --- how do you suppose to explain and/or train all your friends and family to answer questions brought by USCIS through telephone interview when you marriage is a pure scham??? I cant imagine that!! I think Affidavits ARE very important, most of our friends/family have been contacted by phone by USCIS and I know this part was very important to USCIS. Just wonder here where your opinion comes from??

Not really.
It is not easy to remove your name from joint loan.(banks dont allow)
Sameway sometimes it is difficult to remove your name from valuable house/property.(people dont allow)

Hi there we are in the same shoes. I have an interview coming up in a couple of days. will let u know how it goes. I wasnt even expecting mine i was caught by surprize. What documentation did you send in? And just out of curiosity on the interview letter who are you supposed to meet with?
