I-730 Approval

Same number.
National Customer Service I guess.
What they do is write and send e-mail of some sort to NSC and tell you what you should have reply in 45 days from NSC directly. If you do not, they advise you to call back so that they can do the follow-up.
NSC sent me the letter in June about my wife saying that her name check and fingerprints are done. Case is just sitting for one of the officers sign-off and green light.

comcast,
thanks for ur comments. The answer to ur remarks are, yes relationship is geniune, filed within two years & no criminal issues at all. the only worry we have is that he is aged out. However, he was under 21 when I filed for asylum. My asylum was approved after enactment of CSPA i.e after 17 Aug 2002. He seems to be eligible for benefit under CSPA.
Since his Bio-3 has been taken & alloted with A# therefore, I am hopefull he will get his approval but it is not guaranteed. That's the primary reason he is still maintaining his F-1 status. I do not know if it is necessery in any way.

I will appreciate ur comments on this strategy we are following.

Yes he is covered by CSPA as long as his marital status is (and has been) single.

You should also bear in mind that once the I-730 is approved, all previous violations of immigration laws (i.e. being out of status) are forgiven.

thankful,
I am really thankful to u for ur comments. Yes, he is single still. Yesterday I got e mail from uscis it states that case is pending for security background check. It is out of processibg time for over a year now.
Any suggestion how I can find out the status of security background check?

Thanks again

It is basically impossible to find out. It can take a long time for certain individuals. Chinese names can be double whammies because of common last names and also because U.S. law enforcement views the Chinese government as a potential security threat. Good luck (it is only a matter of time).

Please don't panic yet. Recently, I contact Nebraska concerning a I-730 (outside normal processing times) for my son already in the US. Here is the answer that I received;

"...We are actively processing this case. However, we have to perform additional review on this cause and this has caused a longer processing time...

I think that it is the situation for most of us who are waiting for a I-730 approval for a benefiaciary already in the US.

I-730

There is no news.
I called customer service again and asked them to pass message to NSC about my wife's case. She passed background and fingerprint check, so I do not understand what's the problem with Nebraska Service Center.
Rep on the phone told me that I should get written reply to my request within 60 days.
As soon as I get something, I will post in on the forum.

Dear ykasumov & colocolo,

Thanks for reply. Is there a way to find out if name check has been done or otherwise? A reply to my e mail NSC replied that case for security back ground check is pending.

If your case is really outside of the processing timeframe, I would start getting in touch with your local congress person for assistance.

I-730

Chang1428,

I could not get any info about my case. The only way is to call customer service and they will be submit inquiry on your behalf and you should get something within 75 days (worst case scenario).
Some people on the forum suggested to talk to representaitves from Congress, others to write directly to the center, etc.
Due to some reason Nebraska is processing I-730 not as quick as say I-485 -just compare processing time update and you will see what I am saying.
Gooid luck to everyone with I-730. It sure takes a while for Nebraska to process this easy application.

Do you guys know why Nebraska doesn't want to process theses applications? In my son case, 6 months ago, it was question about security checks. Today, they perform additional reviews on this case. What will be next? We keep spending money at school and waiting for a final decision. That's very stressful.

Unbearable I-730

I just got reply on my request from NSC.
someone at customer service mixed up and put my wife's name as a caller and requestor of the information.
Nebraska took its sweet three weeks and replied back to her by mail saying that only petition (myself) can get info about case.
This nonsense regulation irritated me and I called national customer service again and placed another information inquiry and told rep to make sure to put it from my name.
So another three weeks will probably pass by and i might have something.

colocolo & ykasumov,

Will u please let me know when the Bio-3 of ur son/wife were done? My son & wife had their Bio-3 taken in May 07. There is only one update on their on line status.

Thanks

chang1428,

My son had bio 2 on July 2006, bio 1 on January 2007. They're currently performing additional review on his case at this time. I don't know what will be next.
