Has anyone experienced transfer of I 485 from local to NSC office after interview?
-----YES after I-485 approval at Local office then file is sent back to service center and then service center will send the Card
Is this a standard procedure for an officer to do?

One more question: is this common that it would take 2 yrs? We had an interview two years ago, inquired a lot through infopass and tel. and this is the latest news, that the file was transferred to NSC, the officer who took my call requested a "service", any advice on that?

I suspect you file is not sent by local office to NSC or Local office or Service center misplaced the file.thank you ginnu!

2.Write all your details, Name, I-485 filing receipt #, A#, DOB, the date of Interview at local office. Go to your senator or congressman local office with all the details and copy of I-485 filing receipt.
3 also write to USCIS Ombudsman, write ALL the details and your info and send the letter with certified return reciept. Update us when you get responce

first when I called i was told the file was sent by error to RC instead of SC,
yesterday I was told it was in nebraska service center.
every time when I went for infopass I was told the officer did not make yet a decision, last I was there in Feb. 07

one more, I had to retake the biometrics because they expired, I did so in Dec. 06, called FBI and were processed Dec. 06, the same day

-----------------that is wrong info given to you at window, ask for SUPERVISOR and then talk to him /her. They have system to locate your file.

I know a Similar case the interview was conducted in Newark NJ the person was told that his file is sent back to VSC. he waited for 2 years and then many trips to to Local office and got the reply file is sent to VSC. later I told him to talk to supervisor, involve congressman office,write to USCIS Ombudsman and the file later was located in Newark office only as officer who conducted the interview never sent the file back to VSC and went on leave and then forget to send it to VSC. I told the person to do the same I wrote to you. take infopass and talk to local office supervisor and inform him that officer A at window tells file sent to RC other tells to RC other tells to NSC and other tells to SC. why the file need to be sent to NSC if officer has not made a decision? ask him where is the file?

-----------From where you did get biometrics notice? from Local USCIS office or from what service center? check the envelope the address should be on the envelope from where it was sent

I did not get a biometrics notice, I knew they were valid for one year, in Dec. I applied to renew my I765 in one of the branches close to my house and I mentioned to the officer that i needed biometrics but have not got notice for a long time, the officer called local office, spoke to supervisor, and i had biometrics taken the same day, no notice, the officer also mentioned my file is on 'supervisory hold', but would not tell me anything lese.

--------------- then why did not you go to local office with infopass and asked what is" 'supervisory hold'? why did they at window tell you file is with X service and second time at window second officer says it is sent to Y service center. why you did not asked for supervisor? go and ask and dont forget to Visit your congressman office/Senator office with all the details posted here and also write it to USCIS Ombudsman and to Local USCIS office director with certified return reciept. write your Name, I-485 reciept date,A#, DOB, Interview date and explain every thing clearly so that they can understand the mess created by particular officer at particular Local office. if you have copy of Interview date notice attach the copy. Update us

---------------how you can apply I-765 close to your house? you need to send I-765 to service center where your I-485 file is. where did you file? did you got EAD or I-765 approved. did you got I-765 filing reciept? from where?
** your I-485 is based on employment based or family base? Provide full case details.

everything was ok. except I did not get a stamp, the officer needed letter from work from my husband and his copy of passport, we did fax it to her next day.
my I 765 is done in Missouri, it has MSC letters before the number. I did renew it in March 07 i did have my bio taken for it April 6th, as of today no EAD card.
Yes, I never asked for supervisor, did not know it was an option, i also wasn't aware this institution is a mess.
I am going this Monday and then I will ask for supervisor.

---------------------- you wre supposed to take everything needed for Interview they can ask anything and later it may have not got attached with file and file may still be with local office

*** my replies to your post may not be correct as you never wrote that it is Family based I-485. you did not inform in the first post I thaught your I-485 is employement based. you can write to all and your wife /husband who is USC also need to follow up.

I do have an infopass for tomorrow. My husband- A USC cannot go because of work, going myself.
I don't know where my file is. I hear different stories every time I inquire it is either local office or Nebraska.
I hope it is ok or me to ask for supervisor if i go by myself. My husband went with me many times, his vacation time is already used up.

So I went for infopass, and ...nothing.
First I was told my file is in Missouri and I should write them, then i was told that actually my file is in local office, here in chicago, the file is under supervisory review. I asked to speak with the supervisor about it and my request was denied, I was told that the information service provided for to me is enough, and i should be patient. Well, after four years from applying and two years after interview we learned to be very patient.
Tomorrow certified letters to senator and congressman office.
Will post any news.

My "approved LC filed on Sep 2004" and when i got my 140 approval i got the "Priority date on 140 Approval is May 2004." So which one USCIS will take into account. LC Date ? 140 Date?
Please Answer me..
