If after applying for 485, if someone is laid off what the options.. How long can one stay in good status. Is the 10 day period true??

There is no ten day period for anything having to do with adjustment of status. As a practical matter, I don\'t think that you have too much to worry about. Once granted, an EAD remains valid until it expires or is explicitly revoked by the INS. The EAD will allow you to get a new job. Unless the INS sends you an RFE within the first 76 days after filing, the layoff will not be a problem. You are allowed 84 days to respond to an RFE. If you are beyond 180 days when you respond, there is nothing the INS can do.
