After getting married I have to go for H4 visa stamp and have to change my name to married name.

So, how long does passport office in india takes to change the spouse's last name on the passport???
------------------Once you get married you need to get marriage certificate from registrars of marriage.
Get affidavit made through lawyer that your got marred to XYZ son of ABCD on date… at City /village in state…. of India. Your maiden name on your educational certificate is………. And your name on Indian passport number…. Is… and your date of birth is…. Your father name is… your mother name is…. And you have changed your name after marriage as ……. (Lawyer knows what and how to write)
Then apply for new Passport copy with married name and submit the affidavit and marriage certificate with new passport application and fee. You should also get your husband name on your passport and for that submit the copy of your husband passport.
It may take 25-30 days to get new passport copy. If you take the service of any passport agent and ready to give ”Chai Pani” then agent can get passport in 6-7days.
FYI one can also get passport by Paying TATKAL fee and for that you need to get Verification done and attach the verification with passport application. Get the passport application and read that.

You live in India, but you are working for a US employer and have a pending I-485 (as mentioned in your first post in this thread)???

What is the truth? Did you lie in your first post or you lied in last post.
 
Sorry, for any confusion you might be having. What i said, my husband is in NY and i'm going to marry him. Hope it helps! What i said earlier is, about his satus and i'm in india. Hope it clear your confusion. Basically, he's short of busy guy and rarely have times to invloved in the blogging world, so i thought let me understand some guidelines. But believe me, you're very helpful and have good understanding, Appreciated.
