I have I-485 interview (under schedule A) on last week of current month. November bulletin revelas that schedule A is retrogressed from next month on.

My question is:- God forbid but if for some reason immigration officer delays our 485 approval and doesn't stamp our passports on the same day of interview, would I be in retrogression situation eventhough my AOS interview is in current month (non-retrogressed month)? Can they approve the case later with the fact that AOS interview was called in the month then had current dates for schedule A? Please guide.

Thanks,

Your interview date is meaningless; what happens is if the officer requests the visa numbers at the interview. If he or she gets the visa numbers, you are good to go. This is the absolute last step before approval. (Passport stamping, by the way, is equally meaningless, but it is a good sign of approval.)

By and large, I think you should be fine. You should focus on ensuring that you get approved at the interview. If the officer indicates that this will not happen, remind him or her that you will be retrogressed as of November 1st, and is there any other information they need to ensure that the approval happens before then.
