I-485 Filed, can I change job?

Hello,

My I-485 was filed 6 months ago (receipt date 08/02/2006) and had my Finger Printing 5 months ago. received my Advance Parole and EAD in September. Now, Can I change job? If I need to renew my AP and EAD, Do I need any documentation from my employer, who filed labor/I-140?

Please advise and thanks for help.

-----------------if I-485 pending more than180 days and I-140 approved and you get permanent job offer with same/similar job duties then you can use AC21 and can change
If I need to renew my AP and EAD, Do I need any documentation from my employer, who filed labor/I-140?

AC21 is a rule published several time. You can find it by google search and see relevant portion. It is not mandatory, but you can invoke it by sending papers to USCIS.
 
Forgive my ignorance. Is it a form that I need to apply and get approved (or something like that?)

EB3/NY

We got our I-140 approval on Jan 18th 07. Since the current priority date for filing I-485 is May 22 '01, I dont have any clue as to how long I may have to wait before I file I-485.

I am a 4 year bachelors Engg. degree holder with more than 6 yrs work exp. in US and a total of 14 yrs. When the GC was filed in 2003 my catogory was done under EB3, as I had only 3yrs of US exp at that time (EB2 requires -Master's degree of Bachelors with 5yrs of work exp.). But I read a bulletin where it stated that after filing GC under EB3 and waitng, the number of years that he/she has worked during that time can be considered and file under EB2.

Can anyone please guide me as to whether this can be done and if so, what are the specification?

--------------It depends all on the advertising done before LC filing, what education/degree, and experience they required and what the lawyer wrote on form ETA 750A in item 14. If they asked BS degree for that LC in advertising then you having Master degree with 10 year exp or PhD will only qualify for EB3 if the employer filed LC in EB3 (at the time of your LC filing you had BS degree and 3 year exp, you were eligible for EB3 only)
