Well, today is the day! I've received the letter that I-485 is approved and the Green Card should arrive within 6 months.

As for now i can obtain a temporary aliien card stamp if needed and i need to make an infopass appointment.

For memory refreshment - i was that worried person because i was called for the interview to the local office ( Newark, NJ). The interview took place on Feb22, i was requested to send the copy of my birth certificate with certified translation. The tranlation was delivered to the office on March 2 , the case was approved on march 9, the letter is received today, march 13.

P.s. Anybody has any idea what's that infopass appointment for?

Congratulations!! Welcome to the club! It seems like they are doing a lot of approval these days!!!

Thanks, i just wonder if it's really going to take them 6 months to send the plastic card. My native passport is expired and can't be stamped . Why wouldn't they just send the card together with the letter i wonder.

Hi, My husband is going to local office for a interview next week. could you please tell us what did you bring to the interview and what questions they had asked you. Did you have to get a cleanrence letter from the local police department on arrest record? Thanks

I was actually surprised that i was asked for my birth certificate copy though it wasn't mentioned in the letter. Along with that i wasn't asked any of the documents that were mentioned ( aka letter of imployment, medical exametc). As the matter of fact i wasn't really asked any questions besides "where was my attorney?", "where is the copy of my birth certificate?". I didn't have an actual birth certificate, so i was given a web adress where i could obtain a certified copy of the documents from my native country. I did have a copy of it that was faxed to me by my parents a few years ago and this copy along with it's certified translation worked well.

Yes, i did get the clearance letter from the police, but i wasn't asked for it. I think i took with me every piece of document i had - like my last tax returns, marriage certificate, my kids birth certificates - just in case, but none was asked.

If your husband was arrested, i would strongly recommend to go to the court and get a certified court disposition and a copy of police report. Actually, look at the letter they've sent you - there are a few boxes checked on the 1st page of what you must bring and there is the whole list of documents you should bring with you. Play safe, get every possible document just to make sure there are no delays bacause you have to send them something esle.

Thanks. My husband was not arested but in the letter from the immigration services ask to bring police reports and certifed court dispositions for all (If Any) arrest on your record. Where did you go to get the cleanrence letter? And Did you bring a attory with you? Sorry, I have so many questions. But please help us out. Thanks

Go to your local police station or sheriff department and ask them about that letter. It shouldn't be a problem. If he has traffic violation go too the Court and ask them about disposition. It's easy as 1 2 3.

Thanks for your info. He is going to the local police today. His interview is next Thursay, Do you think we need to bring an attorny with us?
