PL UPDATE MY INFO.

MY CASE IS APPROVED ON MAR 09.CAME TO KNOW THRO E-MAIL AND

CASE STATUS. MY CASE IS EB3 AND RD IS FEB 15TH.

help no 140 receipt number

First post here in these forums.

My wife applied for I-140 using her company lawyer. The lawyer is new and doesn't seem to know a lot about how these things work! Anyway it is for EB2 (substitution labor) and there is a fedex confirmation that NSC received it on Jan 30th, 2006. So far neither her company nor us have received any receipt number/ LIN number/any communication from NSC. My question. Is this normal? did this happen to any one? Is it normal to not receive any receipt number for weeks/months?Is it because it is substitution labor? Is there any way to check the status of the application? The lawyer don't seem to have a clue.

Appreciate any help.

Hi,
Usually reciept will come in 10 days time.
They will dispatch it to your lawyer address/ company address.
Check ur attorney mail.

If not another way is to check your company cheque # in bank transactions.
If it is cleared u can get recpt no on back of the cheque.

My wife filed I-140 on 08-Mar-06. Her labor got approved in Feb-06. It is EB2.
 
Ok got RD and receipt number from the attorney

Here's our status

LC PD : Apr 2002 (subst)
IL-140 : RD Jan 30th 2006


No LUDs. It just says
"Your I140 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR ALIEN WORKER was received on January 30, 2006. We mailed you a receipt with information about processing. It is taking between 150 and 180 days for us to process this kind of case. We will mail you a decision as soon as processing is complete."

It looks like the I-140 is getting approved in 25 to 35 days for EB3. Thats good news as we can get 3 years h1 instead of 1 year after 6th year.
