Hi Gurus,
If the I-140 is approved and job is lost before filing 485, one has to start all over? Or I-140 can be carried over to another job? Any options in this scenario?
Thank you.

If you have had an approval on 1-140 and your 1-1485 has been pending for 180 days, then you are good to go but any thing less than 180days is subject to denial.

You can use old PD for I-485 filing

Hi:

You have to start the process all over with a new employer.

However when you have the I-140 approved with your new employer, you can
use the priority date from the previous I-140 to file your I-485.

This is as far best as you can do.

1 if the past employer is not going to revoke I-140 then you can file I-485 based on that I-140, GC is for future job (I-485 can only be filed if PD is current)
2 you can retain the early PD if I-140 for you is approved and you have evidence of I-140 approvel. at the time of filing second I-140 inform your lawyer.
3 join new employer with H1 transfer , let him file new LC and then I-140

Thank you gurus for the information. When you said 'I-485 is pending for 180 days', is it the time after filing for I-485? Or is it the waiting time before you file I-485 ?

Thank you.
