Does anyone have any experience with I -140 GC extraordinary ability(E11) category approval? It has been 15 months since we have not heard anything and our calls (directly to Vermont and to National Customer Help Line and even senator's office just don't help). It is very frustrating. We filed I 485 April 2003 and although we did receive EADs, what is going to happen if they don't approve I 140 after all that time? A friend lawyer said that I 140 is the key to 485 package ( including EAD and Advanced Parole).
No one asked for any additional information on I 140 during all that time, should we assume that it is just a matter of time?

What is your area for EB1-1 or extraordinary ability? Did you file it self sponsored? your service centre?
I-140 in EB1-1 takes long time; I hope they have not checked I-140 till date because in EB1-1 cases 90% get RFE for more evidence

My husband self petitioned. His field is bionanotechnology. Senator's office said that our file is with Adjudications Officer already, so said the officer in Vermont office over two months ago. Exactly HOW long does it take to review a pitiful stack of papers...

It shouldn't take more than couple of hours to review those documents but here we are talking about a government office, so it might take couple of months.

I know about a self petitioned case of EB1-1 (extraordinary ability) in Motion Picture Arts, the person had National film award to his credit, participation of the feature film in other film festivals and lot of newspaper cuttings, written about the person in film/television magazines. The I-140 was approved by VSC in 6 months (it was in 2002)

But the person changed his mind and not immigrated to US even after approval of I-140, he is working in Bombay.
