Hello!

I am currently applying for a green card through marriage to a USC, to the VSC.
I want to get an Advance Parole card, to take some classes in Canada (home country) and visit family, etc.
Can anyone tell me what the processing times are at VSC for the I-131?
Can anyone offer an example of a letter to send them?
When you apply for multiple entry, do you have to give reasons for each entry...how does that work?

Thanks a million!

I believe all marriage based AOS applicants needs to apply for AP via the Chicago lockbox.
I got two AP documents during my AOS period. This was late 2002/early 2003 when APs were applied at the local DO. All I stated was "Visiting parents in Canada" as a reason. Boston DO had no issues on both occasions.

Where to file:
Please see page 5 of form I-131. File it to where your case is now if you have already sent your packet to Chicago. You can find this information on your online status or the envelope you got for your receipt number. If your case is in VSC, send AP application to VSC.

How long it takes:

Multi-entry:
You can explain it clearly under the attachment of Part 7 on form I-131. Don't forget to check "multi-entry" on the form.

Collect every document necessary. Then, it is just a matter of time.

Good luck!

thanks for the info!
i haven't sent any of my papers yet....can I send the I-131 in the package with everything else?

Yes, include the I-131 with the rest of your forms in the same envelope to the Chicago Lockbox.

sorry, just a bit confused here...
i am in new jersey, and i thought i was to send everything to Vermont...is that right?
thanks for clarifying
