us citizen.... sent out I 130 on Dec-26 and packeged deliverd to dec-28 at chicago ... no updates... check is not cleared by INS or no case no issured

any hope... i think they are still let us fill I 130 for family memebres ... i heared in news they are going to changes something but i m not sure where they stopped or what... just :rolleyes:....
 
yes, they still let you fill out I-130, however, you need to file a lone I-130 in the service center, not in Chicago lockbox.
 
From the I-130 USCIS Forms Page:

Effective December 3, 2007, all petitioners filing stand-alone Form I-130 are encouraged to submit their petitions to the Chicago Lockbox instead of a USCIS Service Center. I-130 petitions filed with the Chicago Lockbox will be routed to, and adjudicated at, the appropriate USCIS Service Center. This routing will be based on the petitioner’s place of residence in the United States.

So, what you did is ok, jigjack. My understanding is that receipting of standalone I-130s has been heavily delayed because of the large number of applications filed last year, and USCIS has been focusing on processing I-485 and N-400 applications first.
 
hi jigjack i filed I 130 alone for my parents to chicago lockbox on 16 dec 07.i got the reciept letter on 28th jan 08.so hope ur mail is on way.
