I-130 for sibling. Help on info

Hello,

I am filing I-130 for my sister and would like to know what would happen to the application if she got married.

Are you an US Citizen?
Where is your sister from?

I have heard most people here advise that whoever you file a petition for, should not get married or their FB visa category will be pushed back/below. Which would mean a lot more time to wait.
 
Since your sister's category is F4, it doesn't matter whether she is married or not and whether she has kids. The spouse and the children will be included in the application.

The advice above is in regards to the adult children of US citizens and LPRs who move between the categories depending on their marital status.

Yes I am a citizen and my sister is a citizen of India.

How would the spouse and children be added later. She is currently single but may get married in a couple of years.
 
you'll send a cover letter, an updated I-130, a copy of a notice of receipt/approval for the original I-130, and copies of marriage/birth certificates to whereever the application is at that moment. If I-130 has been approved, you don't need the updated I-130, just the supporting docs and the explanation.

Make sure that, when the time comes, DS-230 forms are filled out for every one of the derivative family members.

Thank you very much LucyMO. Please keepup the good work. I am going to file the I-130 along with my marriage cert, my sisters & my birth cert and the fee then wait a very long time for its approval.

If you think I need to send any other documents please let me know.
