Hello.. Im new here and I've found a lot of useful info already...

Unfortunately, I have not been able to find anything about someone in the same boat I am...

The scenario is this...

I got married to a Filipino was I was still a GC holder back in 05... When I filed her I-130, I wrote on the application that she will just re-adjust status here in the states since she was here at the time but she had to go back to the Philippines for some family issue...

Just last year I became a USC and a day after I got my naturalization cert, i called USCIS and upgraded the petition from spouse of a GC to a USC... after 2 weeks, the I-130 approval was sent to me... On the approval letter it says that if the person (my spouse) is in the states, she would need to re0adjust status by going to the USCIC local office...

But if she is not here, I need to submit form I-824, request for further action on an approved petition, for USCIS to forward the paper to NVC... It has been 3months now and I still have not heard from USCIC whether or not NVC already has the paperwork...

My dilemma is that my wife and I have planned for a church wedding this August 1 in the Philippines and I am hoping that after the wedding she can travel back with me... If not, I might end up giving up my job here ad stay there with her for a couple of months until she gets her visa... At this kind of economic state, Im hoping it won't have to reach that point... but heck... i need to do what I need to do right?

Does anyone somewhat have a timeline for this? I have read Fbanna's case but mine is somewhat different since her approved petition was automatically forwarded by USCIS to NVC and did not file for I-824...

My timeline looks like this...

11/05 - Filed I-130 for spouse of a GC
10/08 - Became USC
10/08 - upgraded petition I-130 from spouse of GC to USC
11/08 - I-130 approved
11/08 - Sent for I-824
02/09 - ???????

Any pertinent info you may have would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

You are doing things correctly. However some elements are beyond your control and processing time is one of them. August is still 6 months away. With lady luck on your side, your wife may get her visa on time. Just bear in mind, the consulate in Manilla is considered slow/difficult since a lot of immigration fraud occurs there. I wish you the best of luck and keep us posted.
