I-130 Approved, AOS Denied, NEED HELP w/Consular Processing!

Hi,

I am a US citizen. I petitioned GC for my father.
His I-130 got approved in Aug2010. We had filed for AOS at the same time w/the I-130 filing.
He got denied the AOS on Jan12 since he'd missed his AOS interview: was undergoing eye treatment
overseas at the time.

Going the consular processing route as the only option.

I understand I need to file w/the NVC next.
I am not sure what other form(s) I need to send NVC along w/his approved I-130.

Would the I-130 copy w/the proper fees suffice?

I would be grateful w/any help on this matter or pointing me
to postings/URLs that explains and clarifies the process.

Thank you!

File I-824 with USCIS to switch from AOS to NVC and Consular Processing. See that form and its instructions first.

I thought when you file I130/ I 485 together the person should be in USA, and they both will be approved at the same time when you go for the interview. How come I 130 is approved and not I 485?
When i filed for my mother, she did not go for an interview. SHe got an email first stating that I 130 was approved and 4 days later she got another E mail stating that I 485 was approved. After that in 2 days she got card production email.
SO your father left USA for the Eye treatment?
You had I 130 approval in 2010 and I 485 denial in 2012?

The I-485 was denied because he did not show up for the interview (there is also the possibility that he traveled abroad w/o advance parole).

The I-130 is separate. Dad is still dad, that cannot be denied, it is a fact and nothing more.

So, You mean to say he applied for I 130 and I 485 together, (He was trying to do AOS while his dad was in USA),
and as he said he mailed both of them together, and USCIS approved just I 130 and scheduled an interview for I 485 which his dad did not go, so his I485 got denied?
