I am currently on H1-B visa in US. I went to India last month and got married. My wife got her H-4 visa stamped from Chennai Consulate in her passport but is still in India due to personal reasons and is planning to travel to US in a month's time.
After I returned to US, I came to know that my employer is planning a merger with a larger company and filing an amendment to my H1-B petition. My employer said that an amendment is not mandatory because my job duties, salary and work location(on LCA) are still the same but filing one anyway.
If the amendment is already in progress while my wife is still in India, would she have any trouble traveling to US on the H4 visa in her passport or would she have to wait until the amended H1-b petition is received and then come to the US with a fresh visa in her passport.
Are there any options here -like my wife carrying a letter stating information about the merger etc and can travel to US with the existing h4 visa?
I am very worried and I really appreciate your answers. Please help me.
Thanks in advance
